English Dept graduate Oskar Mustafa wins prestigious Chinese scholarship for Master’s

University of Human Development graduate Ms Oskar Hawar Mustafa is now in China at Zhejiang Normal University, a public university in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, studying for a Master’s Degree in Comparative Education at the College of Education.

The teaching programme in this department is in English.

Oskar did her undergraduate courses at the English Department at the University of Human Development (UHD). She graduated in 2021.

She applied for a Chinese government scholarship for postgraduate studies in 2023 and managed to win it. The scholarship is for two academic years. It will cover air tickets to China, tuition fees, accommodation, medical insurance, living allowance, and air tickets back to Iraq after she obtains her degree.

Oskar is not the first graduate student to win a scholarship for her postgraduate study. A significant number of UHD graduates have won scholarships from foreign countries and institutions. This shows the high quality of the study programmes at UHD.
