Football tournament: Medical Lab and Nursing played the final match

In a football tournament at the University of Human Development, organised and supervised by Students Unit, two teams of Year 3 students from the Medical Lab Sciences and Nursing departments played the final match on 14 May 2024.
The match ended in a tie after the normal time and extra time; both teams scored an equal number of goals after four rounds of kicks. The penalty shout-out method was used to determine the outcome of the contest. Medical Lab Sciences team was declared the victor – around 50 students in six teams played throughout the tournament.
A little ceremony was held following the final match in which the Dean of the College of Health Sciences Asst Prof. Dr Salih Ahmed Hama-Ali and Head of the Nursing Department Dr Bushra Jabar Hama-Rashid attended and handed out awards, medals and trophies, to the winners.
The general atmosphere of the matches was superb. It was positive and courageous. Many students came around as fans to see their fellow mates playing in the university’s splendid stadium and trying to win the cup for their departments. The nice weather of the spring and the green hills around the university campus had made all the scenery more beautiful.
