A graduate of the English Department at the University of Human Development (UHD) has been awarded a MOFCOM scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in China. MOFCOM is a fully funded educational programme sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.

Shiraz Star Hassan was an exemplary student during her time in the English Department. Following her graduation, she applied for the MOFCOM scholarship and secured a seat to study for a master’s degree in Educational Management and Policy at Northeast Normal University (NENU), which is a public university located in Changchun, Jilin Province, China.

The programme will be taught entirely in English, and Shiraz is well equipped to face the challenges of this new international environment thanks to the education she received in the English Department at UHD as well as her own personal efforts.

The University of Human Development warmly congratulates Shiraz on this landmark achievement and wishes her continued success. The university hopes that she will successfully complete the programme and, upon her return, join the many other UHD graduates who have won international scholarships and now serve their communities and country.
