IT team triumphed at UHD football tournament

The Students Unit at the University of Human Development (UHD) staged a football tournament for students across ten departments. Games were hosted on the UHD campus at the Football Field, a beautiful venue overlooking a wide terrain to its east and south.

The tournament created an unforgettable experience for the participants. It was a meaningful opportunity for student-athletes to play and compete, and for the spectators to enjoy and cheer for the victory of their team.

The Law Department team from Year 4 and the Information Technology Department team from Year 3 played the final match on 2 February 2026. The match concluded with IT being crowned champions of the tournament. A ceremony was then held, attended by the university's president, Professor Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed, the President's Assistant for Financial Affairs, Dr Hiwa Abubakr Ali, and the President's Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr Anwar Muhammed Faraj.

The university's president congratulated the teams and handed them trophies and medals. He also thanked the organisers for managing and supervising the games. Fans gathered around the football field, watching the game and the ceremony.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from all departments, reflecting football's deep connection with students.
