Kurdistan Region’s Flag Day at UHD

Students spent a day of celebration at the University of Human Development on the national occasion of the Kurdistan Region’s Flag Day. The activities included students gathering in the main square of the campus, hanging a huge flag on one of the buildings on the campus, playing the Kurdistan national anthem 'ai-raqeeb', a formal salute by students, and a range of activities in Professor Dr Ali Qaradaghi Hall, which witnessed a speech by Asst Prof. Dr Hardi Mahdi on the history of the Kurdistan flag and the importance of having a flag for the nation-building process and maintaining and promoting the Kurdish national and ethnic identity.

A musical team participated in the celebration, and several students also took the stage and contributed to the activity.

The 17th of December is Kurdistan Region’s Flag Day. The occasion is celebrated at governmental and non-governmental educational and higher education institutions and almost all other institutions, and by the public in various places.
