The Medical Laboratory Science programme at the University of Human Development (UHD) is committed to improving the quality of life of those we serve. We do this by providing career-oriented laboratory education to an increasing number of qualified students. This programme is to prepare graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours needed to function effectively in a wide range of laboratory settings. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for worthwhile clinical experiences for all qualified students and also to define clearly what is expected of students at all levels of the programme, to make these expectations clear to all students, and to help students fulfil those expectations. To accomplish our vision, the mission of Medical Laboratory Science is to prepare professionals to demonstrate the highest quality of technical and clinical competence in serving their patients and the laboratory profession. UHD Medical Laboratory Science Department strives to define clearly what is expected of students at all levels of the programme and to help students fulfil those expectations.

Providing highly qualified and effective medical laboratory professionals, fostering university-health sector partnership, delivering high-quality healthcare services, initiating and conducting scientific research, and training highly effective researchers are what the Department of Medical Laboratory Science is set to achieve.

We strive to become the centre of excellence in medical laboratory diagnosis abilities and biomedical research to support the ongoing advancement of Kurdistan's health care and medical laboratory delivery system. We inspire to become the leader in offering a distinctive educational opportunity to those who wish to improve the health and wellbeing of society.
