UHD-led Iraqi Team wins the first round of Huawei ICT Global Competition 2023-2024

UHD-led Iraqi Team has managed to win the first round of the Huawei ICT Global Competition 2023-2024. Events of competition are currently underway in China with the participation of students from around the world, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, America and Africa. Participating teams were the winners of previous rounds of the competition. The Iraqi team is dominated by students from the University of Human Development (UHD); two students out of thee are from the College of Science and Technology and the team’s supervisor is also from the UHD.

The President of the University of Human Development, Professor Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed, sends his congratulations and wishes the team success in the next rounds and a final victory. He has already thanked the College of Science and Technology for their efforts and said that the students’ significant achievement at this international competition is an indication that UHD provides high quality of education and prepares its students to be leaders in their work field.

Following their triumph in the first round of the Global Competition, Huawei Public Relations manager in the Kurdistan Region, Mr Jamal Noori Ahmed, contacted the University of Human Development to pass on his congratulations on behalf of Huawei Company in Iraq. He cited the success of the UHD team in the previous rounds of the Huawei ICT (Information and Communication Technology) 2023-2024 which were first held at the state level then regional level. The regional competition was held in Bahrain and the UHD team shocked everyone with their magnificent performance.

The current Iraqi team consists of three students, two of them are from the University of Human Development, College of Science and Technology, viz. Mr Brwa Shirwan Awrahman and Mr Bayad Aram Hassan, and the other student is from the University of Mosul. The team’s supervisor is Mr Goran Saman who is a lecturer at UHD at the same college.
