College of Nursing at the University of
Human Development (UHD) performed several activities on International Nurses
Day on May 12 to mark the occasion and honour the nurses in the Kurdistan
Region for their services.
A team from the Department of Nursing, led
by the department head Dr Bushra Jabar, visited the state-run Sulaymaniyah Obstetrics
Hospital and met with the hospital’s staff. They presented UHD’s glass plaque
to the hospital as a token of appreciation and respect from the university’s
president Prof. Dr Mariwan Ahmed Rasheed.
The UHD team gave letters of thanks to the
nurses at the obstetrics hospital and distributed sweets to them.
Another activity of the Nursing College was
a free check of blood pressure and diabetes for visitors at the Majidi-Mall
shopping centre in Sulaymaniyah. The team also gave free advice on health
issues and problems.
